The Opera?
I have anatomy at 8 in the morning, but I am not tired. So I am going to write stuff. I went to an 'opera' on Saturday night (at csub). It was called "The Festival of La Paloma." I was kinda excited since it was a first for me, and because it was highly recommended. IT WAS H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E. It had to be the worst thing ever. The songs were mixed, being sung in both spanish and english. Words were even exchanged in single lines... And I could barely hear anything being sung. And it was lame. The storyline sucked. Yes, I know it was cal state performing it, however if these people are theatre majors the least they good do is be almost good. And besides, they only do a big performance like this every 3 years, you'd think it would be good. I would have left at intermission had my mom not paid for my ticket. Good thing there was only 30 minutes (tops) after intermission. I don't deem it worthy of being called an opera. As a result, I now want to see a professional opera. Yep, I really do. I'm gonna find a good one to go to in LA sometime. One that is only sung in another language, not some english version of an opera. Ok... bed time.

It's been a While

Hmm... a lot has happened since I went to Hawaii. New Years was a blast. Mammoth was great and I could write an entire post on it, but I wont. Well, maybe just a little. It snowed 7 feet!!! in one day while I was there. 7 freaking feet!! Then the next day they were blasting for avalanches, and much of the mountain was closed. It was also snowing. I got stuck too. It was crazy. I was off the trail in powder (of course) and I briefly stopped to look behind me, and next thing I knew I was 3 feet deep. I tried to wiggle out, but it was unsuccessful. By this time I was much deeper. I had to unbuckle my feet from the bindings and litterally climb out to the trail. I was a good 25 feet from it too. So, if you can picture this, I gripped my bindings, put my board 2-3 feet in front of myself, and pulled. Yep, I did that to get out.
And I couldn't stand because that resulted in me sinking deeper. I was on my knees for the majority of the time, occasionally laying out so I wouldnt sink. It probably took around 20-30 minutes to get out. And it took all of my energy. It was the hardest thing I did all day. When I got to the groomed part, I just sat there and caught my breath. This last picture is looking out over Lake Crowley on the last day.
School started again. Hopefully this is my last semester at BC and I can move on to a better university. I am taking anatomy, critical thinking/writing, and two music appreciation classes. This entire semester is geared towards Berkeley. I am also playing hockey again this season, so everybody gets to hear about games again.

Maui
We woke up Saturday morning to a nice view.
The first day we kinda just drove around the northwest side of the island and found some place to go surfing. No pictures of my surfing attempts, sorry. Then we just hung out around the hotel and watched the sunset from the beach.

On Sunday Katie went scuba diving and my mom and I went snorkeling. We went to Molokini, a sunken crater off the coast, and Turtle town, an area know for its turtles. There were only 6 people diving/snorkeling on the boat, so it was really cool. On the way out to Molokini we saw 2 whales. That was awesome. Katie took some cool underwater pictures from her dives.

On Monday we went scuba diving again. This time I got to go as well. The three of us did an itro thingy in the pool at the hotel for fun. Then in the afternoon we had signed up for an intro dive at Coral Gardens. We were fortunate again and there were only 2 intro divers (me and some other guy). Katie dove as well, and of course the instructor. We saw 2 eels and lots of coral/fish. It was soo much fun!

Monday night was a bit hectic. Katie's ear really hurt and she was in pain. My mom took her to a physician. It turns out she had a perforated left ear drum. It probably happened sometime during our dive. Anyways it kinda put a hold on our parasailing planned for the following day. We couldnt travel anywhere high in altitude. Instead we went to Iao Needle, a state park. It was relaxing. And as we were leaving I pointed out this gigantic spider. This thing was huge.

Wednesday was our 'chill' day, which included no planned activities. We stopped by some shops, went out to lunch, and just hung out at the beach all day. My mom and I drove to Makena Beach. It was pretty. Then we drove along some road that headed to the south end of the island. We drove through some lava field. It looked cool. We concluded our night with a nice dinner, then watched a movie at the hotel. Thursday morning we woke up early and just looked out off the balcony. We then packed up, went out to breakfast, and went to the airport to catch our flight home.

Finals
Well, we won our first playoff game in an exciting manner. It was tied 2-2 and the end of 3 periods, then we had a 10 minute OT, then we won in the shootout. We have this sunday off, and the finals are on the 18th. If you're in town, you should go. It might be fun.

Playoffs
Hey... we won last night. The score was 2-1. It was a really good game. Lets see, we finished the season (before playoffs) in 1st. Our record is 9-3. We have a week off to eat turkey and get fat, then our first playoff game is Dec. 4th against the last place team. IF we win that game, our next game would be on the 18th.
